On the weekend of the 2nd - 4th of February 2007 the Origin Festival returns for it’s 4th year of music and good times. From the people who bring you Earthdance Cape Town; Good Times events, Nano Records, and Shadoworks, comes the Origin Festival, an Electronic music, art and holistic lifestyle festival. Origin promises to be yet another ground-breaking experience with multiple stages and will now also feature a dedicated workshop space where festival goers will be able to enrich their minds with free talks and workshops by some of South Africa’s leading experts on sustainable development, holistic living, music production, DJing and more.

MUSIC

Top international guests and local DJ’s and musicians will be rocking the weekend away with 2 main stages on Saturday and Sunday, featuring the best in Psy/Prog-Trance, Electronica, Breakbeat, Techno, Electro, World music and everything in between. And of course we have a whole ton of NANO artists set to blast!

NANO Artists on the lineup include: Tristan, Ans, Regan, Headroom, The Commercial Hippies, Traci, Cooks and Sim1

Also on the bill are :

Live Performances from- Dj Magabo, Chromoscience, Pitch Hikers, The Real Estate Agents, Sweat X, The Considerate Builders Scheme, Humanizer, Tickets, and Mr Sakitumi

DJs include– Fletcher, Juan Thyme, Connecto, Digital Rocket, Sway, DJ Low, Honey B, Ivan, Richard, The return of the Lavalamp Experience, Liberation JuJu, Mix n Blend, Olli, One Track Mike, Seven Ark, Toby2Shoes, Wooblz, plus more..

Tristan will be showcasing all his newly finished, third and biggest, album to date entitled ‘Chemisphere’ (set for release on NANO records in early 2007).

ART, COLLABORATIONS, VISUALSWORKSHOPS

On Saturday evening there will be special Live AV collaborations between some of the VJ’s and Musicians including, a very special performance by The Commercial Hippies & Image Master Blink. A first for Origin and a first for the artists.

Friday night sees 2 smaller rigs kicking it till dawn, while the early evening and Saturday during the day workshops covering topics such as Renewable energies, Permaculture, Organic and Raw Foods, Water Conservation, Eco Architecture, Music Production and Performance (including a chance to connect to some of the NANO artists playing at the event), Field Recordings, Astrology, Mediation, Recycling and much more will be open to all festival goers.

There is plenty of camping space available with food stalls and full facilities including a river and a massive swimming pool to help ensure a fully sorted weekend.

VENUE

Nekkies Resort, Worcester. Gates open Friday 2pm (for ticket holders), with music starting from sunset on Friday and festivities going all the way through till Sunday afternoon.
