Filippo Moscatello is Naughty.

Embracing all that is good about being European, this native Italian has lived an worked in Berlin since 2000 - long before the town was flooded by the migration of European’s glitterati to its bullet-scarred streets.

It’s here that his career as a producer started with work for Russ Gabriel’s seminal Ferox imprint. After his early cuts for Ferox were featured on Mixmag’s Richie Hawtin compilation, Filippo naturally gravitated towards Berlin’s techno juggernaut Gigolo Records. At Gigolo, Filippo produced DJ Hell’s album ‘Munich Machine’ and also had a hand in the early DJ Hell remixes.

Five years ago, Filippo released his first album ‘Disco Volante’. It was a fusion of Nu Yorican influenced House and Disco and was released on Gigolo Records.

After the release of his debut has was asked to remix Fischerspooner, Tiga, Inner City and Telex, but it was his remix of Märtini Brös’ ‘She’s Heavy Metal’ that really turned heads to his style of Naughty house.

Like with all promising production careers, the club promoters started to take notice and Filippo’s DJ schedule began to get increasing hectic. With festival sets at Benicassim (Spain), the legendary Love Parade in Berlin, the uber cool 10 days off in Ghent), the eclectic Transmusicales (Rennes), it wasn’t long before Naughty had graced the decks at most of Europe’s premier clubs. He was also being called upon by the likes of Mario Testino and Karl Lagerfeld to DJ at their parties.

Filippo then returned to music production with a vengeance. A meeting of minds with The Glimmer Twins led to releases on Ghent’s fantastic Eskimo Recordings. Recording as ‘Silver and Gold’, his first 2 EPs ‘Red Hot’ and ‘Time’ were loved by the a diverse cross-section of DJs, from Laurent Garnier and Ewan Pearson to Harvey and New York’s hottest disco darling Rub n’ Tug.

Last year Filippo released his first official compilation, ‘One Naughty Night in Berlin’, on Eskimo, which was voted ‘Album Of The Month’ by the UK’s influential IDJ Magazine.
