Headroom IX

sSHADOWORKSs brings you the 9th edition of HEADROOM. A monthly event that features a fine selection of sSHADOWORKSs affiliated DJ’s from Cape Town and Featured Guests from the rest of South Africa, and sometimes the world.

Each Month we strive to bring a guest DJ/Performer from outside of Cape Town. This is intended to showcase some of the talent we have across the country, and encourage the exploration of the scene in South African and not just Cape Town.

While focusing on the Guest DJ’s, HEADROOM also tries to give opportunities to local Cape Town “up and coming” DJ’s, that fit the nights profile. That said, one may find some of the most influential and recognized names in Cape Town performing along side the new comers and guests

The past months have allowed us guests from Durban, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Austria, USA. With the a year of HEADROOM approaching soon we hope to bring you many more into the future.

HEADROOM IX will feature ONE TRACK MIKE from Durban. Mike is the promoter of Trip Hazard Events, and no nonsense dance floor rocker. His style touches Breaks, Techno and Minimal.

Beat Heavy Weights THE REAL ESTATE AGENTS will be performing a second to non live show. The agents need no introduction as they have firmly entrenched them selves as the pioneers of SA glitched beat performance. This will probably be the last one for a few months as Markus’s heads to Europe for the first sweat.x euro tour

In support is local DJ SELEKTA SOUL. Blending like a fine wine, the perfect selection of downbeat, funk, soul, and hip hop to warm up the ears and minds of all in attendance.

We have access to the best studio and award winning producer in the country and will record our second full length album next year. Other than that we have nothing planned.

Good riddance they booked the same overpriced djs who with there narrow minded thinking tend to not think beyond their’s and their mates record labels when playing, incest that ran the same gauntlet forever, recurring on an annual basis. residents Terry Francis, Richards anyone???...pretty overrated huh. Change is good; no one club should dominate the landscape. I hope to god this happens to an unORIGINal club in my town…with the winds of change blowing briskly into the sails it’s already starting to happen.

Long live Berghain with their dominant music policy and indestructible residents.

tragic. some of my best club experiences ever at that place. Looks like Matter completely backfired on them. they had to pump millions into it to keep it alive and now its taken them down with it.
