For part two of the Killer Robot birthday celebration,we welcome Ryan Crosson aka Berg Nixon onto the decks for a night of international minimal mayhem.
Born and raised in Detroit, Crosson dj-ed in the city for many years before focusing his attention on production. By expressing a tireless work ethic in the studio, Ryan was soon noticed for his efforts by local Detroit label, Beretta Music. Not long after this, Ryan signed music to Cologne based label Trapez Limited just one year after he began writing music. The EP release on Trapez LTD. titled, “Say So ” was well received with many positive reviews from a plethora of international artists and Ryan’s signature percussive programming, dubby basslines, and dark atmosphere started making an impression in the right places and he was signed to Richie Hawtin’s seminal M-Nus label, recording the Box Escape ep under the alias Berg Nixon. More rave reviews followed and soon Ryan was ding regularly with the M_Nus crew all over Europe and Berlin, where he now resides. He is a fixture at festivals like Movement in Detroit and at underground clubs like the Rex in Paris and Watergate in Berlin as well as being a close associate of Butane, who tore Fiction apart on his last visit to Cape Town.
Killer Robot is proud to bring Ryan out as a birthday tribute to all our regulars who have made this night what it is. The first year has been incredible, the second is going to be even better. The sonic conquest continues!
