silent> i didnt really know sean, as i was living in london when he came through as a dj - though i met him and djed with him a couple of times whilst out here on holiday - but it has been an honour as both a dj and a father to be involved in this event for the last 3 years.

i truly believe it shows the extent of his legacy to the development of underground house music in cape town, and i feel it and see it in the people who still talk about him with so much love and respect.

''when we give ourselves over completely to the spirit of the dance, it becomes a prayer''.

I feel you Silent… I was with Sean when he bought his first record, and was there after a couple of months of rigorous practice when he got his first mixes on the go.
The look on his face was… priceless!
The bug had bitten!
After taking a long sabbatical myself, I opened for him 3 years later at Prawnography Black Sheep.
He took over from me a 12 and I sat back and watched him take those people on a sublime 2 hour journey into the realms of deep underground music.
I was so proud of him.
I believe we should all remember him and this annual event is an awesome way to do it.
After this party we would have raised well over 20k for his little dude.
Big up to Sean Duvet who started the ball rolling with his effort and contributions

It feels like it was just yesterday that i spoke to you and the next you were gone. We love you and think of you all the time Bjorn still says his Seany rocks and he does. I am honoured to have such a brother ,loving,caring and loved his son and nephew more than we know. Thanks Niel for what you are doing we are truly greatfull. God bless all you guys.

Sean, as a mom you dont know what to say. I truly miss you and there is not a day that passes that i dont think of you. Your whole life you have touched many people with your love and care. I am honoured to call you my son as i read all the comments and see how many people you touched in the short time we had you. All my love forever.
Thank you to Niel and group for carrying on my sons legacy.

Thank you family of the Prawn for all the shout outs, it makes the night of the 23rd even more special when we unite together to honour him.
Myself, Tania, Rob, Russell, Duvet and Peter will be spreading the love and respect every year around this time, with our efforts towards the Prawnography event.
I'm gonna feel him next to me as always next Friday night saying...''Now we playing, now we playing''

Well, what can I say...I met Sean for the first the Friday before he passed [had been a groupie for a while though] and he wanted me to meet someone special in his life. I had no idea who or what that would be. I went along to his funeral to pay my respects and send him my shout outs and I met Neil Nortier..... of all the places in world! Weird thing of all is that our paths had crossed before but we never saw it coming. Thank you Sean for that. You were a massive part of Neil's life and are now apart of mine. We are now having a beautiful baby boy in 3 months time and I know you had something to do with this. So out of all the saddness, you have brought us joy! We feel you around us constantly and I so wish we could have spent more time together but like they say...the soul never dies. I have lost many friends but I can honestly say, we hear you brother.
See you on the flip side.

ps: just a little background - the reason the Sean story touches my heart so is cos I was nine weeks pregnant when my daughter's father died in a car accident, on monday the 12th Nov it was exactly 6 years ago. So I really feel for his son (and family) because with my daughter missing the father she never met breaks my heart everyday.
So I know this isn't the time or place but I'd just like to say "hey Gavin Mark Assad I really love you and I miss you so much. You gave me the best present I could ever have dreamed of - she's gorgeous, I know you would've been so proud of her. She's up in all the Edgars stores posters again this year... she looks like you."

So hope you don't mind me throwing that in there :-)

pps: I hope they're mates in heaven... Gavin made friends/was friends with everybody so I'm sure he found Sean a while ago swapping notes and causing havoc - he was one naughty sh*t :-)

Although my son, Kayde(Sean's nephew), was only born after Sean's death, I know that he's looking down at Kayde from heaven and smiling..our angel.

To Francie, Griffin and Shelly, Chris, Nats, Sam, Brent and kids - my thoughts and prayers are always with you...Keep the FAITH!
