Sasse / Freestyle Man (Moodmusic)

Born in Finland in 1973, Klas Lindblad has been djing since the end of the 80s, dwelling first thru pop music and eventually finding electronic music in the early 90s. He was running one of the first house clubs in Turku, Finland from 92-96 and was a regular guest at the major parties in the Finnish electronic scene.
At this time he also started to work on production and soon the first releases came out on Sähkö/Puu as Freestyle Man. His early work has been considered a milestone in the Scandinavian house sound and the original 12-inches are still very much sought after.
In 1996 he started Moodmusic with the first release, “Sasse Presents…”, a 4 track EP with influences from NYC and Detroit house. Instantly creating a havoc on European dance floors, the following releases put Moodmusic on the map of recognized house labels with the distinctive sound and top-notch A&R; abilities of Sasse and his close-circuit artist roster.
Fast forward to 1999 and Sasse leaves Finland for Frankfurt am Main to start a residency at the famous Robert Johnson club. He is running his highly successful “Finnish First“ nights there from 2000 - 2003 after which he decides to move to Berlin.
The early releases from Henrik Schwarz on Moodmusic culminates in 2003 with the birth of Sunday Music, a musical platform for Sasse and Henrik productions. At the same time Sasse started Must! Records for more obscure disco, italo and chicagohouse edits.
In 2005 he builds his beloved BlackHead Studios in Prenzlauer Berg with companions Ewan Pearson and Filippo “Naughty” Moscatello and starts to work on his first artist album. The album “Made Within The Upper Stair Of Heaven” is released on Moodmusic in 2006 to critical acclaim and the singles, “Soul Sounds”, “Loosing Touch” (featuring the distinctive vocals of Kiki) and “Up To You” makes waves on dance floors around the globe.
In 2007 a special collaboration called “It’s All True” between Tracey Thorn and the production team of Sasse, Darshan Jesrani and Ewan Pearson was featured on Tracey’s last album, “Out Of The Woods”. The single release featured remixes from Martin Buttrich, Kris Menace and Escort and was one of the summer tunes of 2007.
During the week Sasse is nailed on his studio chair working under one of his many pseudonyms but starting on Friday he transforms into his first love, the djing. Over the last 5 years, the success of his productions and remixes brought him to nearly all-good House-clubs worldwide. Doing his bi-monthly residencies at Berghain/Panorama Bar and Weekend he keeps the Berlin club land busy.
He has just finished his 2nd studio album called “Toinen” ( “second” in Finnish) which will see the day of light in October 2008 on Moodmusic. He’s also currently remixing Nortern Lite, Jori Hulkkonen, Garnica and Phonogenic.

DJ & producer David Krasemann, better known as Dave DK has been making waves in the electronic music scene for a couple of years now, and now starting to emerge as a serious player. Since the early 90’s he was fascinated by the upcoming techno movement, which eventually led to his own active initiation
1995 was the starting point for the then 17 year old. Together with a longtime friend, Dave produced his first tracks and was involved in the organization of underground techno and house partys, constantly trying to spread and push new electronic music.
Searching for new electronic sounds every day and having honed his skills as a producer in his chosen home Berlin, Dave released his first record on Müller Records in 1998. His DJ activities had been highly pushed since that time.
In 1999 he became a resident DJ at Tresor/Globus club in Berlin, later on also at the legendary Panorama Bar. Beside his remix productions for Beroshima and Skiebäck he released records on raum…musik., Decore, Lifetime Music and Cadeaux.
As Dave is an open minded person who resents musical limits, he doesn’t want to be reduced to one style. His sound simply is the result of different styles that have influenced him throughout the years. “I have a passion for the wide range between house and techno as well as pop music and dancefloor stuff of the early 90’s”, says Dave.Though he’s elegantly juggling a variety of electronic music to create his own style, in his tracks he often combines tragic melodies with kickin’ grooves that transform your body into a twisting stampede of electricity, with trademark swing and warm funk.
The year 2000 can be marked as the first highlight in his career: his debut album “sensory overload“ had been released on Müller Records and there were musical excursions on Cologne’s Television label as well as on the Barcelona based Regular label. Dave is now currently recording for Moodmusic and also on Playhouse (a collaboration with Holger „Smash TV“ Zilske) which brings him even closer to his idea of electronic house tunes.
In November 2007 Dave released his second album „Lights and Colours“ on Moodmusic. For Dave DK, music is a model of living in which he’s able to enhance his skills in order to realise his vision of modern electronic club and home entertainment – expect more fantastic releases in the very near future.

2004 Dirt Crew aka James Flavour and Break 3000 launched Dirt Crew Recordings after releasing their first EP’s “Cleaning up the Ghetto Part 1+2” on MBF. The track “Rok Da House” became one of the key records of 2004, the beginning of the Electro House hype and a big hit that gave the guys worldwide recognition on the dancefloors. Also Moodmusic released two 12’s with the brilliant “808 Lazerbeam” and “Darkside” in 2004 and the “Domino” E.P. in 2005, but things really got wild when they remixed Sasse’s “Soul Sounds” which again went straight in the charts and was voted one of the best remixes of 2005 in the german “Groove” magazine and has been dropped by all major DJ’s. They also remixed the first single of the Who made Who album on Gomma in 2005 and made classic remixes for artists and labels like Jennifer Cardini, Silicone Soul, 2020 Vision, Crosstownrebels, Gomma, Freerange, Fine and Breastfed.
Due to their success and productivity they decided to start up their own labels named Dirt Crew Recordings and Players Paradise. Straight from the start Dirt Crew Recordings went off into the charts with the super massive remix of “Largo” by Dominik Eulberg who has set his path for success with this particular remix and is now one of Germans leading producers. But also the hot first single by Dirt Crew “What you Want” released in October 2004 is still a highlight in the whole retro old school scene. With the massive singles of James Flavour, Break 3000, Tigerskin and Jennifer Cardini the label proved to have an excellent output. With new artist like Alfa Romero, Adultnapper, Sian and Chopstick & Johnjon the label expands its view on quality house and minimalistic sounds. Combining these new artists with well known heroes of the scene like Kabale und Liebe, Motorcitysoul, Gregor Tresher and Spirit Catcher proved to be the key of success. Dirt Crew Recordings will follow this path in the future and will keep on promoting da real house
