Remember Synergy? How could you forget? For eight years, from 1994 to 2003, Synergy was the craziest New Years Eve party in the Mother City – a series of unforgettable dance events that shaped a generation. Now, after seven years of silence, Synergy returns and takes the form SYNERGY LIVE, of a massive 3-day outdoor music festival from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, on Boschendal Wine Estate, in the Western Cape’s Franschhoek Valley.

True to form, there are multiple entertainment areas on the menu where an extraordinary lineup of more than 60 bands, live acts and DJs will be performing over the weekend. The focus of the festival will undoubtedly be the Synergy main stage, where headline acts such as Prime Circle, Goldfish, Fokofpolisikar, aKing, the Dirty Skirts and Flash Republic together with a line-up of over 20 top local acts will grace a stage that rivals any of the biggest international festivals! For the fleet-footed, the Urban Beats Stage, housed in a massive geodesic tent, is the place to be on Friday night and will encompass all things Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Funk and Glitch. On Saturday, the beats change to house, when a non-stop line-up of Cape Town’s legendary DJs takes to the turntables: Craig de Sousa, Dino Moran, Shaun Duvet, Peter Abrahams, Tony Smith, Ryan Dent, Craig Massiv et al. And in a first for Synergy, keeping up with the latest trends in dance music, look out for the Electrodome featuring the crème de la creme of Cape Town’s upcoming Electro, Drum & Bass, Dub step and Techno Dj’s. Artists include Haezer, Elgordo, Brucewillis, Grave Danger, Counterstike, Hyphen, SLR, Niskerone and techno supremos Killer Robot.

Should you want to unwind, the main bar stage is the place to be – while you’re catching a breather, you’ll be entertained by a squad of retro re-mix-masters and up and coming local acts both live and unplugged playing an eclectic mix of all things 80s, 90s, old school, funk and rock.

Head to the Marketplace for everything from a cup of coffee and breakfast in the morning, to schwarma, pizza, gourmet meals or Asian delights for dinner, or you could do it in style and book a Boschendal piqnique basket. Concert collectables including CDs. DVD’s and T-shirts, are all available in the Merchandise tent, where you will also find a locker room for safekeeping of anything you need to stash while you’re dancing – and there are even recharge stations if you need to juice up your cell. Finally, it wouldn’t be Synergy without the legendary Fairground – a crazy collection of thrills and spills where you can let yourself go and unleash your inner child. Imagine the very best circus acts, carnival rides gathered from all around the country and you’ll start to get the picture – just scream if you want to go faster!

Bring your tent and turn Boschendal into your home away from home for the full weekend. The site features full camping facilities with plenty of room and creature comforts like hot showers, lockers and toilets – tended 24/3 so you can look forward to being clean, safe and secure.

For the modern festival goer, Xmas just came early!

If you're an angry white male in your late 20's into metal, a band is looking for a singer.

The brief:

You:
25-35, good sense of humour, lank charisma, must drink beer and hard tack, must look the part, must tune lank, have strong opinions, must prefer the old south africa, must have own transport, must be angry, must be white, english or afrikaans, must be a total mental metal head to the core. Must like, listen to, be able to sing: Slayer, The Haunted, Snot, At The Gates, Lamb of God, Pantera, etc. No death/black metal.

We:
36, 37, 41, we laugh a lot, we have loads of charisma, we drink beer and cider mixed together and we drink tack mixed with anything or on it's own, we have strong opinions and we tune lank kak, we are english white people and we prefer the old south africa, we listen to Slayer, The Haunted, At The Gates, Lamb of God, The Refused, Faith No More, Machine Head, Billy Talent, Pantera, Carnal Forge, Snot, Alexisonfire, Deftones, Tool, Gallows, you get the picture.

We have access to the best studio and award winning producer in the country and will record our second full length album next year. Other than that we have nothing planned.
So if you think you can hack it and work with us, we will certainly give you a try and let's rock out.
e mail us your story if you are keen, and if you don't fit the description - don't bother us.
Metal \m/

a truly hilarious quote from dinkys hype / blurb / blah when describing how her broad range of sounds come together:

''something like a sun-dappled clearing in the woods''

ok then.

that would be 'undervalued'

now, now, Navs, i'll have no dissing of Mr Richards round here, ta.

if anything hes unervalued. it takes quite a bit of talent to hold down a residency at a place like fabric for a couple years...

Good riddance they booked the same overpriced djs who with there narrow minded thinking tend to not think beyond their’s and their mates record labels when playing, incest that ran the same gauntlet forever, recurring on an annual basis. residents Terry Francis, Richards anyone???...pretty overrated huh. Change is good; no one club should dominate the landscape. I hope to god this happens to an unORIGINal club in my town…with the winds of change blowing briskly into the sails it’s already starting to happen.

Long live Berghain with their dominant music policy and indestructible residents.

tragic. some of my best club experiences ever at that place. Looks like Matter completely backfired on them. they had to pump millions into it to keep it alive and now its taken them down with it.
