Attendance essential!
Killer Robot invites the mighty Digital Rockit (Graeme G Force, Dogstarr and Fabio) and Sound Sensible to see out the last weekly KR night at Fiction in grand style (see statement below). Killer Robot will be going monthly at Fiction from May together with a program of one off events at venues around the country.
KILLER ROBOT FORMAT UPGRADE:
Over the past four years, Killer Robot has been instrumental in introducing Cape Town and South Africa to the best in underground electronic music from its weekly residency at Fiction.
Some of the worlds top names in all spheres of techno have been hosted over the course of this time as well as countless locals who have honed their craft under the banner of Killer Robot every Friday. Artists like Seth Troxler, Butane, Konrad Black, Alex Smoke and many others have all lent their reputation and talent to the night to propel it onto the international techno circuit where it has received mentions in the UK, US, German and online music press.
Against this backdrop and the profile of the growing South African techno community, it has become necessary for Killer Robot to modify its format and broaden its transmission area.
From May 2010, Killer Robot will be expanding its horizons to encompass one off events and productions at different venues around Cape Town and the rest of the country, as well as working in studio on a forthcoming radio show and the release of an official mix cd. Continuing its close relationship with Fiction, Killer Robot will shift from weekly, to a monthly slot there on the last Friday of every month, collaborating with an assortment of top quality artists both South African and foreign.
Killer Robot remains 100% committed to bringing you the best in local and international talent now and in the future and will exercise this new flexibility to its full potential. We thank you all for your support up till now and hope you continue to spread the word to underground music fans everywhere.
