Killer Robot - Future Machine

The last two installments in the Killer Robot monthly series have featured outstanding international talents in the form of Alex Smoke, Barem and Federico Molinari. For July we hand the decks back to our own ‘local-nationals’ Ivan Turanjanin and Bruno Morphet.

Both Ivan and Bruno …have been away for most of June, soaking up inspiration at the Sonar Electronic Music festival and then on separate missions to the UK and Germany. Bruno was lucky enough to play a 15 hour(!) back to back set alongside French dj/producer Shonky at the infamous Soul Shower night at Berlin’s Club Der Visionaere, standing in for residents Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. Ivan arrived back in SA to find himself supporting the one and only Sasha on his recent SA tour.

Bruno and Ivan will each deliver a two hour set of the very finest and latest material gathered on their travels, in true, uncompromising Killer Robot style. They will be joined on the night by Joburg’s Danger Ingozi aka Data Takashi, the genre hopping upstart now making a name for himself alongside scene legends like Markus Wormstorm and Kid Fonque.

DANGER INGOZI

The progressive South African, DJ DANGER INGOZI, has recently been breaking free of his disco-bearded alias DATA TAKASHI by sweating it out with his percussive and tropical take on house, electro and techno. His first love for dub is also worn on his record sleeves, but it’s his eclectic blend of what sustains him and what pushes him forward, that is showcased in every set. From sizzla selections of sub-stepping, quaking bass to lush minimal workouts, quality productions are always at the core of his journeys.

Already prolific with various support slots for top local and international headlined events, DJ DANGER INGOZI is just getting started. He remains down to earth and deeply rooted in his passion, but more resolute than ever with the hard work that lies ahead. Next year promises to be another step forward with his plans for finally setting up a studio for some much overdue production time, one that could pave his way to an international audience as well.
